Trump's final midterms pitch: El-Sayed ‘Hates’ Jews and Blacks, maybe Alaska Senate candidate was ‘kidnapped’

Neither post elaborated on the underlying allegations, or supplied any evidence.

On the night leading into election day, President Donald Trump made just two new posts on Truth Social: One suggesting that Democratic lawyers may have kidnapped an Alaska Senate candidate, and another accusing Michigan Democrat Abdul El-Sayed of hating white, Black and Jewish people.

"FAKE ALASKA CANDIDATE DANIAL [sic] J. SULLIVAN, JR., IS MISSING IN ACTION!" Trump wrote at 1:12 a.m. ET. "NOBODY HAS BEEN ABLE TO FIND HIM. MAYBE HE HAS BEEN "KIDNAPPED" BY THE CORRUPT DUMOCRAT LAWYERS??? THEY ARE SCARED STIFF OF BEING PROSECUTED FOR ELECTION FRAUD!!!"

The post named no lawyers and supplied no evidence.

Twenty minutes earlier, at 12:52 a.m. ET, Trump attacked El-Sayed, the Michigan Democratic Senate candidate. "Abdul El-Sayed Hates Jews and Hates Blacks. Don't feel bad, he also Hates Whites,” he wrote. “He will, 100%, do you in!"

He supplied no evidence for those accusations.

Trump has persistently attacked El-Sayed, accusing him of hating Jewish people, and calling Black and Jewish supporters of the candidate “crazy.” On Oct. 31, Trump said El-Sayed "probably hates all people."

In August, El-Sayed responded to similar comments from the president, saying: "I love and revere Judaism and the Jewish people."

Trump himself recently made news for using what is widely regarded as an antisemitic slur during a rally in support of Kansas Senator Roger Marshall.

Regarding Trump’s later overnight post, CBS News reported Saturday that Daniel J. Sullivan Jr., the Alaska Senate candidate whose name closely resembles that of the Republican incumbent Trump supports, left his hometown in Alaska in the run-up to the election.

“Sullivan's current whereabouts after leaving his hometown are not clear,” wrote CBS News’ Jonah Kaplan.

The New York Times reported Wednesday that aides linked to the campaign of Democrat Mary Peltola helped recruit Sullivan Jr., citing texts and interviews with 12 people. Peltola has denied involvement: "I am not interested in tricking voters." Sullivan Jr. has also denied being involved.

On Nov. 1, U.S. District Judge Sharon Gleason dismissed a Justice Department lawsuit seeking to block certification of the election results if the Republican lost, ruling that the government had not shown it had the legal right to sue. The government appealed the decision.
